Pricing

What it costs — and who it's for.

Every engagement is scoped individually. We're a pre-launch practice accepting applications and strategy calls. Pricing is unique to each engagement — there are no fixed tiers. The menu below describes the work types; concrete pricing happens during the strategy call.

Engagements
Four ways we work

Every engagement starts with a scoped proposal and a specific dollar number. These are the ranges we build from.

Right fit, wrong fit

We do our best work when both sides are honest about scope. Here's what good looks like and what isn't us.

Right fit

  • Operating budget $1M–$5M
  • Using or ready to use Shelterluv, PetPoint, or ASM
  • Has a bookkeeper (or ready to hire one) for daily recording
  • Board that wants financial visibility, not just P&L
  • Grant-funded with restricted-fund complexity

Wrong fit

  • Operating budget under $800K (we can't economically serve this)
  • No shelter operations software (you're not ready for our wedge)
  • Looking for the cheapest bookkeeper available
  • Don't have a CPA for annual review (we work alongside CPAs, not instead of them)
  • Single-program, single-funder, single-entity shops (too simple for our scope)
Out of Scope

What we don't do

We don't do tax returns (your CPA does — we provide working papers). We don't do HR, IT, grant writing, or board governance (we know who does; we'll refer you). We don't run your fundraising CRM. We don't replace your bookkeeper — we sit above them.
Process
How engagements start

Three steps from first call to signed engagement letter. No long sales cycles, no pressure.

01

Free strategy call

30 minutes. We assess scope fit and discuss pricing before anything is formal.

02

Proposal

Specific scope, specific dollar number, engagement letter draft.

03

Engagement letter signed

We begin the diagnostic or onboarding once kickoff details are confirmed.

Ready to see if we fit?

30 minutes, free, no pitch deck. We'll either scope something real or tell you we're not the right call.
